Liranz Limited was engaged by the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education (MTHE) of Sierra Leone to deliver a large-scale digital skills development program aimed at empowering 300 young people with practical, industry-aligned technology skills. This initiative, implemented under the Skills Development Project (SDP), was targeted at SDF graduates and eligible youth seeking to improve their employability in the fast-evolving digital economy. The program was structured to provide both foundational and intermediate-level training in high-demand ICT skills, preparing beneficiaries for existing job opportunities while equipping them with the competencies needed to pursue entrepreneurship or freelance careers.

Project Scope

The project focused on providing comprehensive technology training across multiple digital disciplines, ensuring learners gained hands-on experience in real-world tools, programming languages, and modern development environments. Training areas included:

  • Cloud Computing
  • Ecommerce Website Development

This holistic approach ensured that each participant was exposed to a wide spectrum of digital capabilities relevant to today’s job market.

Project Goal

The overarching goal of this assignment was to deliver a structured and demand-driven digital skills training program that enhances employment opportunities for Sierra Leonean youth. By focusing on technology careers that continue to see global and regional growth, the project aimed to:

Liranz provided structured training sessions that covered essential and intermediate-level ICT skills tailored to the local job market. Training content was aligned with industry demands to ensure participants gained relevant, employable skills. Focus areas included coding fundamentals, full-stack development basics, user interface design, automation concepts, and cloud-based applications

  1. Provide Practical, Hands-On Training for Real-World Application

A core principle of the program was learning by doing. Participants worked on practical exercises, guided projects, and real development tasks to help them:

  • Understand real working environments
  • Gain confidence in using digital tools
  • Apply concepts to real-world challenges

This approach significantly enhanced their readiness for tech roles or self-employment pathways.
