Liranz CEO Nicholas Bortey Contributes to Pan African AI & Innovation Summit 2026 as Speaker and Hack-AI-Thon Adjudicator
Liranz CEO and IT Strategist, Nicholas Bortey, joined technology leaders, policymakers, innovators, investors and entrepreneurs from across Africa and beyond at the Pan African AI & Innovation Summit 2026, held from 22–23 September 2026 at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra.
The second edition of the Pan African AI & Innovation Summit was held under the theme, “Scaling Africa’s Ethical AI & Innovation Ecosystem: Building Youth Capacity, Policy, Partnerships and Skills.” The summit focused on advancing conversations around artificial intelligence, digital sovereignty, innovation, policy, investment, skills development and the practical application of AI across Africa.
As part of the summit programme, Nicholas Bortey contributed as a speaker, sharing his perspectives and experience on technology, digital transformation and the role of innovation in strengthening organisations and Africa’s digital ecosystem.
Beyond his speaking engagement, Nicholas also served as an adjudicator for the Hack-AI-Thon, a major feature of the summit designed to identify and showcase promising African AI innovators and startups.
The Hack-AI-Thon brought together developers, entrepreneurs and problem-solvers working on technology solutions addressing real-world challenges. Following a competitive selection process involving more than 100 teams, 25 finalists were shortlisted before five teams advanced to the final stage of the competition.
As an adjudicator, Nicholas brought his experience in IT strategy, business consulting, digital transformation, technology leadership and enterprise innovation to the evaluation of the solutions presented by the finalists.
His involvement in both the summit’s speaker programme and the Hack-AI-Thon reflects the growing importance of connecting technology strategy with practical innovation—particularly as African organisations and entrepreneurs explore how emerging technologies such as AI can be translated into sustainable business and societal impact.

The Pan African AI & Innovation Summit was organised in partnership with institutions including the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, University of Ghana Digital Youth Village, Brandeis University School for Global Development and Sustainability, and the Estonian Business Angels Network (EstBAN). EstBAN also supported the Hack-AI-Thon, with the competition designed to connect promising African startups with investors, mentors and potential strategic partners.
