AWS Analyst [WorkSpaces & Workspaces Applications (AppStream) Specialist]

Contract Type: 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract (Renewable)

Location: Accra

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled AWS Analyst  on a one-year renewable contract with hands-on experience in Amazon WorkSpaces and Amazon Workspaces Applications (formerly Amazon AppStream 2.0) to support our cloud-based virtual desktop and application streaming environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for deploying, and managing end-user computing solutions in AWS, ensuring performance, security, and scalability. Experience with Microsoft Intune is an additional benefit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy, manage and support Amazon WorkSpaces environments for end-user computing.
  • Administer and optimize Amazon Workspaces Applications (formerly Amazon AppStream 2.0) for application streaming services.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability of AWS workspace environments, using AWS tools (e.g., CloudWatch).
  • Perform patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management of virtual desktops and streamed applications.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to support ongoing cloud initiatives.
  • Maintain documentation of configurations, processes, and operational procedures.
  • Analyze usage metrics and optimize cost-efficiency of AWS services.
  • Provide L2/L3 support for end-user issues related to WorkSpaces and AppStream.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience working with:
    • Amazon WorkSpaces
    • Amazon Workspaces Applications (formerly Amazon AppStream 2.0)
  • Strong understanding of:
    • AWS core services (EC2, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch)
    • Networking concepts (DNS, VPN, subnets, routing)
  • Hands-on experience with Windows virtual environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Preferred Skills (Added Advantage)

  • Experience with Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager for device and application management.
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies.
  • Familiarity with automation tools (CloudFormation, Terraform, PowerShell, or scripting).
  • Understanding of endpoint security and compliance tools.
  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator) are a plus.

Contract-Specific Expectations

  • Immediate or short-notice availability preferred.
  • Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
  • Strong focus on operational efficiency and quick issue resolution.
  • Flexibility to support after-hours or on-call activities, if required.
  • Performance will be reviewed periodically with the possibility of contract renewal based on business needs and individual performance.
